REFUGEE INTERVIEW 
NameMohammed and Khaldoun 
  1. Where do you come from?  
  • We both come from Syria. 
  1. Why did you escape from Syria? 

  • Khaldoun: Mainly because of the war and that I don’t want to be in the army. 
  1. Why did you come to Norway? 
  • Mohammed: Because Norway is a democratic country, and because of the nice people, the rights we get here, the freedom and the peace. 
  • Khaldoun: I came here because two of my best friends are married to two Norwegian women. 
  1. How did you came to Norway? 
  • Mohammed: Syria-Lebanon-Turkey-boat to Greece-Macedonia-Slovenia-Austria-Germany-Denmark-Sweden-Norway-Batnfjordsøra 
  • Khaldoun: Syria-Serbia-Hungary-Germany-Denmark-Sweden-Norway-Batnfjordsøra 
  1. Do you have family and friends in your home country? Do you miss them? 
  • Khaldoun: Yes I have my mom and my dad there. And of course I miss them. 
  1. Do you want to return to your home country some time? 
  • Not before the war has ended. 
  1. What is your dream in the future? 
  • Complete Norwegian school, study at a university, get a job and be economically independent. 
  1. What do you think about Norwegians? 
  • I have met two kinds of Norwegians, one of them is open and wants to start a conversation, and the other one is more afraid of you because you come from another country and a country with a war. 
  1. Is there anything you could do in Syria that you can't do in Norway? 
  • Khaldoun: No, not really. Just that you can't get a tan in the winter. 
  • Khaldoun: My hobby is to play electric-guitar. 
  • Mohammed: I like to do taekwondo. 
  1. Can you tell us anything about your country? 
  • It is a nice country, the village that I come form is known for its fruits, especially apples.
